Courtesy Meeting with Representative of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

On 20 April 2026, the Arab Malaysian Chamber of Commerce had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Adel Al-Shammari, Head of the Investor Support Department at the Expatriates Affairs Directorate under the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a courtesy visit held at the Chamber’s office in Kuala Lumpur.

The meeting served as a valuable platform to discuss potential areas of cooperation and to better understand the investment opportunities and business environment in Malaysia for Syrian investors and expatriates. Discussions also focused on strengthening economic engagement, facilitating business connectivity, and exploring possible support initiatives that could benefit the Syrian business community in Malaysia and the wider ASEAN region.

The meeting was held with the presence of Ms. Yomna Alami from Alami Commodities, who played a significant role in facilitating the introduction and coordination of Dr. Adel Al-Shammari’s visit, alongside her valuable support throughout the entire meeting.

Representing the Chamber during the meeting were AMCC Vice President Mr. Alaa Husni, AMCC Vice President Puan Amnah Shaari, Mrs. Nour Thabet, Business Development Manager of AMCC, and Mr. Danny, Secretariat Assistant at the Arab Malaysian Chamber of Commerce.
